Mexico Day 2 -- Chichen Itza in the morning

We got up early and drove a couple of hours to Chichen Itza.  If you ever go, this is the way to do it -- get there when it first opens before it gets too hot and crowded from the tour buses. Most tour books will tell you that this is not a good place to take children because they will get bored quickly, but we had a great day.  Nathan in particular loved seeing all the ruins. (He even came home after our trip and checked out several books on Mayan history from the library.)
Standing in front of the famous pyramid.
Taegan along the backside where it isn't fully restored and where they are doing new excavation.
Rylee collecting her own artifacts.
The girls in front of the observatory.
Nathan borrowed Mikaela's camera and took lots of pictures until the battery went dead (and she forgot to bring her charger.).
