Annual First Day of School Pictures in the Dark

This is our new Nathan. He just got his braces off and got contacts in time to begin high school. He is starting early morning seminary this year as well. And, I just learned that in North Carolina, you have your driver's permit for a year from the time you take a driver's ed. course after school and you are at least 15. So, he signed right up and will be eligible to get his permit on his birthday next month. (I don't think I'm ready to pass the keys to the car yet.)

Kelsye is in 7th grade this year. She doesn't leave for school until 7:00, so it is a little lighter outside. In addition to being in the orchestra, Kelsye decided to sign up for drama class as her other elective. When we went to the school open house, the drama teacher was thrilled to have Kelsye in her class. Kelsye was part of the stage crew for the middle school play last year, and the teacher went on and on about how helpful she was.

Mikaela is in 5th grade this year. She is excited to be back in school with her friends. She hopes to be chosen to be part of the safety patrol team. We know that she will be an excellent student.

Brittlyn begins 2nd grade this year. She is excited because her classroom is in the "learning cottages" (code name for trailers because there are too many kids at the school.)

Can you believe that Taegan is a kindergartener? She counted down the days for a couple of weeks until she started school. She hops right out of bed when it is time to get up at 5:30 AM. (She is rather cranky in the evening, but with relief, I think her night owl days are over.) She is glad to be riding on the bus to school with her big sisters.
