We finally got some rain . . maybe a little too much. Charlotte has been under severe drought conditions for the last year. This is a picture of our backyard, with a muddy river rapid running through it. We will now have mud for weeks, thanks to the red North Carolina dirt that is full of non-draining clay. Still, the weather here sure beats the Northeast. I do not miss the daily ritual of bundling our kids up in snow pants, hats, gloves, boots, etc. for school.
