We decided last month, that since it was hurricane season (even though we are a couple hours away from the coast,) we probably ought to update our 72 hour kits. It had been 3 years since the last time we put them together, and we quickly realized that we need to rotate them more frequently -- hard, stale food and clothes 3 sizes too small. They also had been thrown in a hot crawl space, and would have been hard to retrieve if we ever needed them. So I helped the kids put them together and gave Paul the assignment to find a new location for them -- inaccessible to children wanting to find a snack, but easy to get if needed. So Paul and Nathan spent a Saturday building these shelves in our garage, and they put the 72 hour kits on top. I didn't realize that I was going to get the bonus of having solid shelves for a lot of the junk in our garage too. (Paul wanted me to put a picture of this up to show that he really can be a handyman sometimes.)
